NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PRODUCED INDEPENDENT FEATURE FILM "THE BILL COLLECTOR" PREMIERES IN GRASS VALLEY ON DECEMBER 10th.

Gold Creek Productions, (Grass Valley, CA) in association with Pacific Crest Media (Loomis, CA) has produced a feature length motion picture called "The Bill Collector". This is a psychological thriller set in these modern times of financial struggle, foreclosures and a changing public attitude about debt. The movie was produced entirely in Placer County including Auburn, Loomis and Roseville. Production was completed mid 2009 and the movie is set to premiere Thursday evening at 7pm, December 10th, 2009, at the beautiful Del Oro Theater in Downtown Grass Valley.

Local actor Jason Bortz stars in the lead role as "John Black", the bill collector. "Jason's acting skills were put to the test with this challenging character, but he has been absolutely superb. His professionalism and talent carry this film." said Peter Oakes, producer/director of the movie. "Even as a low budget motion picture, we had one of the best cast and crew I have ever worked with."

Local Grass Valley resident Bruce Blumen is both the screenwriter and executive producer. "This is one of those 'Bucket List' things that I have always wanted to do" said Blumen. Working on the idea for nearly 10 years, Blumen came up with the concept when his son got in debt and was dealing with bill collectors. Blumen said "One of these guys told my son he was worth more dead than alive because he had a life insurance policy! So I thought I could write a novel with that as the basis." Blumen turned the story into a screenplay.

The movie is a fictional story about an ex-con that gets a job as a bill collector. He uses his position to intimidate and terrorize his clients, but he goes too far and finds himself in a situation he can't buy his way out of.

This movie is not rated. It contains some brief nudity, violence and offensive language, and is not suitable for young children.
